Swindon Borough Council are reminding members of the public that certain supermarkets now take the more harder-to-recycle plastic packaging items.

Swindon Borough Council are reminding the town's residents that soft plastics like plastic films, plastic bags, wrappings and flexible plastics can now be recycled in Swindon supermarkets.

Examples of some of these items include:

  • Plastic carrier bags
  • Bread and frozen food bags
  • Crisp, sweets, biscuit and chocolate wrapping
  • Delivery bags

Tescos, Morrisons, Sainsburys and Waitrose stores are taking part in this local recycling service.

Other supermarkets participating can be found on a store locator from Recycle Now, at https://www.recyclenow.com/recycling-locator?rlw-stream=16

A full list on what items can and cannot be recycled can be found on the Repeat the Cycle webpage at https://www.recyclenow.com/repeatthecycle
