House-hunters in and around the Swindon area have a one-week window to snap up a brand new Shared Ownership apartment from Sovereign at Wichelstowe.

SNG - formerly Sovereign - is anticipating keen demand for the one and two-bedroom Shared Ownership apartments at Wichel Fields, part of the Wichelstowe residential development at the southern edge of Swindon.

Wichelstowe is set in 200 acres of open space, providing homeowners with the best of both worlds – nature trails on their doorstep along with easy access to London via the M4 and direct trains to Paddington that take less than an hour.

Lisa Moran, Sales & Marketing Director at Sovereign, said: “Between the outstanding location and the excellent quality of the apartments, we are expecting strong demand from local house-hunters.

"As such, we would urge anyone keen to purchase a Shared Ownership apartment at Wichel Fields to take advantage of this period to apply.”

All the apartments come complete with fitted kitchens, vinyl flooring in the kitchen and bathroom and plentiful storage space. Bedrooms are spacious and every home comes with allocated parking and EV charging. The two-bedroom apartments offer a choice of designs, including some homes with a Juliet balcony from the living area and some with an en-suite bathroom.

The apartments are due for completion this summer, meaning customers can be settling into their new homes in a matter of months. Deposits of just 5% are required, making buying a Shared Ownership home at Wichelstowe an affordable way for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder. Single home movers and downsizers can also benefit from the excellent affordability that Sovereign at Wichelstowe delivers.

The average price of a property in Swindon over the last year was £275,894. For those priced out of the market or those looking for a bigger home, shared ownership offers an opportunity to purchase a share of a property, typically between 25% and 40%, thus requiring a lower deposit than an outright purchase.

The customer then pays a reduced rent on the remaining share, along with a service charge for the upkeep of communal areas. As and when they can afford to do so, owners can purchase additional shares in the home, ‘staircasing’ their way up to full ownership.

Prices at Sovereign at Wichelstowe start from £66,000 for a 40% share of a one bedroom apartment. In addition to apartments, the development is home to two- and three-bedroom houses.
