Since January 83 Wiltshire special constables have donated more than 26,000 hours of their time to support communities across Wiltshire.
Wiltshire Police thanked them while marking Employer Supported Policing (ESP) Day of Action.
The day recognises employers who enable their staff to volunteer in policing through the ESP scheme.
The scheme allows volunteers to dedicate time to policing duties with the support of their employer. It brings valuable skills, experience and perspectives into Wiltshire Police while helping organisations demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility and community wellbeing.
Employer Supported Policing, the force says, helps create a safer, more resilient society by strengthening links between policing, businesses, public sector organisations and local communities.
It promotes active citizenship and enables volunteers to make a meaningful contribution to public safety.
Chief Inspector Steve Jolly, Special Constable Lead said: "Our Special Constables make an outstanding contribution to policing across Wiltshire, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, skills and dedication they give to serving their communities.
"They are a vital part of the policing family and work across a wide range of roles, from neighbourhood policing and response teams to roads policing and drone operations.
"They have the same powers as regular officers and regularly deal with incidents, prevent crime and provide reassurance to the public.
"The Employer Supported Policing scheme makes this possible by enabling volunteers to balance their policing commitments alongside their careers.
"Volunteering has proven benefits for wellbeing, confidence and personal development, creating positive outcomes for both employees and employers.
"Today is an opportunity to recognise the remarkable contribution of our volunteers and to thank the employers whose support helps make that contribution possible."
Wiltshire Police has recently celebrated several Special Constables for their long service and dedication.
Bill Kingsmill, who joined the Force in 2005, was recognised for 20 years' service. During his time with Wiltshire Police, he has worked across neighbourhood policing, roads policing and response teams. Bill said he is proud to have been able to support Wiltshire Police and local communities throughout his service.
Acting Deputy Specials Chief Officer Ben Williamson was also presented with a Long Service Award this summer after joining the Force in 2012.
He began his volunteering journey in neighbourhood policing, gaining extensive frontline experience before joining the Specials Roads Safety Unit.
Today, he mentors more than 20 Special Constables.
Ben said: "What motivates me is being able to support people at some of the most difficult times in their lives and provide a professional, reassuring service when they need it most."
As part of the Day of Action, Special Constables joined neighbourhood policing teams in Devizes Market Place to speak with businesses and residents.
They also invited local businesses to complete a short trust and confidence survey, helping us better understand the issues that matter most to communities.
