Community concerns about speeding drivers prompted a police operation in Swindon.

Officers carried out what the force described as a proactive operation yesterday - 30 December.
A spokesperson said: "Overall, six drivers were given words of advice in relation to the manner of their driving on Marlborough Road and a total of 16 tickets were issued to motorists breaching the 40mph speed limit on Thamesdown Drive."The team ran the operation between 10am and midday and they had a number of members of the public stop to thank them for their work and show support for police action being taken against speeding."
