Parts of Old Town have been without power since an outage which began last night.
Scottish and Southern Energy Network expects power to be restored at 3pm. The cut affects households in the Avenue Road, Ripley Road and Bradford Road area.
An SSEN spokesperson said: “We would like to apologise to our customers who are experiencing a loss of power, and thank them for their patience while our engineers work to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.”
The spokesperson added that a fault on the distribution network occurred at 10:40pm yesterday - Sunday - evening, affecting 10 customers. A further 15 customers had their power isolated while engineers tackled the problem.
The cause of the power cut was a fault on an underground low voltage cable, and power was expected to be fully restored by 3pm.
As of late morning, a Scottish and Southern Energy team was excavating part of the pavement in Avenue Road.
