Swindon Police are investigating a burglary at a building site where £20,000 worth of items were stolen and damage was caused.

The incident happened at the Barratt Homes site in Mill Lane, Swindon, overnight on 4 November into the early hours of 5 November.

Damage was caused to the site, and tools, copper, and approximately 2,000 litres of fuel were stolen during the burglary.

Although no vehicles are reported to have been seen, it is believed a large vehicle would have been used to commit the burglary due to the large number of items taken.

Officers have been conducting enquiries in relation to the incident and regular patrols of the site are ongoing.

A spokesperson from Swindon Police said: "We’d like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious behaviour at the site overnight on November 4-5.

"If you can help, please call 101 and quote crime reference number 54220116848."
