A Swindon man convicted of operating a local drugs line has today been jailed for three years and 10 months.

Lewis Morton, 21, of Penhill Drive, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court today - 13 April - after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession of criminal property and possession of a class B controlled drug.
Morton was arrested on 9 February by officers from the Swindon Fortitude team, following an investigation into a local drugs line which was responsible for distributing approximately 900 street deals of crack cocaine and heroin across Swindon between November 2021 - February 2022.
Following Morton's arrest, almost £7,000 was located within his bedroom which were the proceeds of his involvement within the drug line.
PC Sam Young, of the Fortitude team, said: “Morton held a crucial role within the local drug line which saw him benefit from organising and directing a number of people, including a juvenile to supply drugs on his behalf in order to prevent him from getting caught.
"We are committed to targeting those responsible for causing harm within our communities and will go above and beyond to ensure those identified are brought to justice.

In addition to his prison sentence, the court also ordered the forfeiture of the cash seized along with all other items related to the drug supply.
