Members of Swindon Palestine Solidarity travelled to London today to join the National Demonstration for Palestine Nakba 77.

Similar protests were held across the world on Saturday to demand governments take action to end what protestors describe as the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their land.
Meaning ‘catastrophe’ in Arabic, Nakba is the name Palestinians give to the displacement of an estimated 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and villages during the fighting surrounding the creation of the modern state of Israel in 1948.
Supporters unable to go to London held a demonstration on Great Western Way outside B&Q and reported being met with plenty of support, with people sounding horns, shouting encouragement and even bringing fruit and water to the protesters.
Spokesperson Kate Linnegar said: "It really brings home what has been done in Gaza since 7th Oct 23: over 14,000 children killed that are known of. That figure will rise as their poor broken bodies are retrieved from under the rubble.
"Swindon has around 7,000 children aged five to 11, can you imagine if they were all killed? That’s half the amount of children killed in Gaza. Utterly shocking and yet our government still sends weapons. Now the Palestinians are dying of malnutrition and lack of medical supplies, as well as being bombed and shot by snipers.’
Swindon Palestine Solidarity continues to organise marches, film nights and fundraisers.
