The Swindon Police force announce that recruitment for Police Community Support Officers, for training next year, is officially open.

The Swindon force are looking for PCSOs to be trained during January 2023 and beyond, for posts across Swindon and Wiltshire.

The force say the role of Police Community Support Officer is a vital community engagement role, working alongside police officers as members of the Community Policing Teams.

A spokesperson for the Swindon Police describes what the force is looking for: "You will need to be calm, confident, positive, and inquisitive, as well as physically fit to meet the requirements of the role, due to the high visibility foot patrols carried out.

The Swindon Police team add that PCSOs work to a shift pattern and on top of the basic salary, those in the role get additional payments for working unsocial or irregular hours.

The force are asking that people read the eligibility details on the Swindon Police website carefully before applying.

Swindon Police are also encouraging anyone interested to join its pre-application webinar on Thursday, 4 August at 6.30pm, for hints and tips on the application process.

Those interested can email samantha.milnes@wiltshire.police.uk to book a place

More information about the job and how to apply can be found online at https://crowd.in/Jbp5Z9
