Swindon u3a will be holding an Open Day this September, where people can come along and find out more about what community activities the group has on offer.
The Swindon u3a Open Day event will be held on Saturday 3 September from 10am - 1pm, at St Joseph's College on Ocotal Way.
Attendees will find 'stalls' for each of the different interest groups, and u3a members eager to talk about all the different activities. Those in attendance will also be offered tea or coffee for refreshment.
There will also be an opportunity for members of the public to join the u3a on the day.
Swindon u3a Trustee and Committee Member, Gillian Brain, said: "Is there something you've always wanted to learn more about – a language, a new sport or game, technology, an art or craft, your family tree? You can do all this and more in one of the u3a's many interest groups.
"The u3a is all about friendship, fellowship and fun! It's for people who have reached that stage in their life when they have more free time to enjoy themselves. Without the pressure of work or exams you can relax in the company of good friends while taking part in exciting new activities together."
As well as all the interest groups – taking place all over Swindon and beyond – there are day trips, talks, holidays, theatre and concert outings and much more for members to get involved with.
People can find out more about what the u3a has to offer, and its membership fees at www.swindonu3a.org.uk. There is also a map on the site, with directions to Ocotal Way, ahead of the Open Day.
Alternatively, members of the public can phone the Swindon u3a office on 01793 614629 between 10am - noon on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
