Swindon's Bus Company to make service changes for improved reliability

The transport company is introducing changes to some services in-and-around Swindon from next week.
Monday 1 November will see the following changes being made:
- 5 - frequency on Monday to Friday daytimes will be reduced to every 10 minutes (previously every 8 minutes).
- 17 - frequency on Monday to Friday daytimes will be reduced to every 10 minutes (previously every 8 minutes).
- 11 - minor changes on Monday to Friday. The 3.32pm journey from Wichelstowe will depart at 3.35pm, and is re-timed between Wichelstowe and town centre. The 4.32pm from Wichelstowe is re-timed (from that stop only) to depart at 4.35pm. No other times on that journey are affected.
Swindon’s Bus Company general manager, Alex Chutter said: “We have looked at the reliability of services across Swindon, and reviewed our timetables in accordance with current levels of demand - to minimise any inconvenience to our customers.
“There are some minor reductions to the frequency of our and 5, 17 and 11 services, to ensure our customers are able to plan their trips with us.
“These are not hugely significant changes. However, we want out customers to be aware, and we are advising those travelling with us to download our app, so they can track our buses in real time.”
“We are also looking to add to our team here in Swindon. and this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to try something new. People with a customer service or retail background - or those tired of working in a warehouse - will be particularly welcome. And it doesn’t matter if people haven’t driven a bus before. We just want to see if they have the aptitude, and then we’ll provide full driver training.”
