Local driver Del Coyne is celebrating this week - after being named employee of the year by Swindon’s Bus Company.
She also achieved second place overall, amongst all the firm’s sister companies across the south coast and Wiltshire. Praised for always going the extra mile for other team members and for customers, Del received her award from managing director Andrew Wickham at the company’s annual ceremony.
Andrew said: “Del has been chosen because of her flexibility and continued commitment to Swindon’s Bus Company and our customers.
“One example of this is when a passenger on-board her bus was taken ill. Their condition worsened and Del called for an ambulance to attend. When the ambulance was delayed, she took advice from the medical services and transported the customer directly to hospital, where they received treatment.
“Del is extremely flexible, always ready to volunteer and is a colleague we can really count on. She is hard working, friendly, patient, gets on with everyone, and has a ‘can do’ attitude. I would like to congratulate Del on her awards, and wish her a successful year ahead.”
Del Coyne said: “I am absolutely overwhelmed and, of course, delighted to be chosen as employee of the year for Swindon’s Bus Company. The award came completely unexpected. Whilst we don’t do what we do for awards, it is really satisfying to receive recognition for a job well done.”
In recognition of her efforts, Del received £4,000 worth of vouchers and a framed certificate.
