Swindon’s Bus Company is to open its travel shop in Fleming Way from Monday 15 June, the bus operator has announced.
The shop has been closed throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, but will re-open its doors with social distancing measures in place.
“We know not everybody has access the our social media channels and website, and some like to visit us in person to get information and details of our services,” said Swindon’s Bus Company head of communications, Nikki Honer.
“So we are pleased to be opening Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm. However, things will seem a little different for those who come to see us. To maintain social distancing, two customers may enter the shop at any one time - and we encourage people to visit us on their own if possible, to help reduce queuing times.
“With altered bus services in place, our existing printed timetables are no longer current, so travel shop advisers will be standing by to assist with details of specific routes.
“For those making payments, we ask that you use a contactless debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay wherever possible. We will still accept cash, but change is limited - so please do try to have the correct money.”
Swindon’s Bus Company is also asking those who have lost an item to check via social media, email or phone first to see if the operator is holding it. “And when you’re collecting lost property from our shop, please do have a form of ID ready,” added Nikki.
“For those who do have online access, there are many things you can do without the need to visit us in person. Travelcard top-ups, Clickit2ride, live journey and departure times, timetable information and journey planning can all be accessed via our website.
“Our customer services team is also standing by on email, phone or social media - and they are very happy to provide information about any of our tickets and services.”
