Police hunt muggers after two men assaulted in separate incidents

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after two separate assaults in Swindon earlier this month left the victims needing medical treatment.

Officers believe the incidents, which both happened on 7 March in similar circumstances, are linked and would like to talk to anyone who was in the area at the time. 

The first assault took place between 8.45 and 9pm in the alleyway off of Rodbourne Road, parallel to the Esso Service Station.  The victim, a 27 year old man from Birmingham, was hit to the head with an object and punched in the face by two men. The victim was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment. Crime reference number - 54190023123

The suspects are described as follows:

1. Black, wearing a balaclava. dark coloured Nike puffa jacket and bottoms.
2. White, aged in his early 20's, dark spiked hair, approximately 5'8 tall, stocky build. He was wearing a Givenchy jumper and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
Later that same evening at around 10.15 pm another man was assaulted in an alleyway to the rear of George Street and Butterworth Street, near Kingshill, Swindon. 

In this incident a 36 year old local man was hit to the head with an object and was taken to hospital for treatment. Fortunately neither man sustained any serious injury. Crime reference number - 54190023123
