A man, 44, and a woman, 33, were arrested in the early hours of this morning - Sunday, 7 August - in connection with attempting to open car doors on Kent Road.
A police spokesperson said: "We would ask residents of Kent Road, Avenue Road and the surrounding area to check their vehicles and ensure they are locked.
"If you find your vehicle unlocked, we would ask that you check if anything has been stolen or if it has any damage.
"If so, please contact us immediately on 101 and quote crime reference number 54220083023."
