South Swindon MP Robert Buckland and borough council representatives will be guests at what is billed as Swindon's first virtual health and wellbeing event.

The driving force behind the online 'feel good' gathering is Swindon organisation Seetec Pluss, which supports people on their journeys toward and in the world of work.

The event will be held on Wednesday, 19 May and run from 10am to 3pm.

A Seetec Plus spokesperson said: "As the nation begins to recover from what has arguably been one of the most challenging years of our time, we are bringing a very special free, online event to the people of Swindon, to celebrate feeling good and what that really means to everyone.

"Here at Seetec Pluss, our mission is to help people get into work whilst building their self-confidence and key skills that will be transferable throughout their personal and professional life.

"We have teamed up with Great Western Railway to host an exclusive ‘Feel Good’ virtual event in the well-known Railway Village of Swindon, billed with a jam-packed afternoon of fantastic guest speakers to offer tips and advice on caring for your mental wellbeing, and real-life stories of pure joy."

Participants will be able to learn about issues including self-employment, training, volunteering and apprenticeships, and there will be expert guidance from local employers and other key people and organisations.

There will also be opportunities to learn about Swindon's railway heritage and take part in a 'sit down' zumba session.
