A skate park confrontation in which groups are thought to have threatened each other with weapons has prompted a renewed police appeal.

The Swindon force wants witnesses to what it describes as disorder at the Buckhurst Field skate park to come forward.

At around 6.15pm on Monday, 13 July, two groups totalling about 10 people confronted each other.

During the disorder, a police spokesperson said, a number of weapons were believed to have been used by the two groups to threaten each other.

It is believed a number of the people involved left the scene via Burghley Close in a dark blue car which they arrived in.

PC Jamie Brown said: “This was a serious incident during which we believe a number of weapons may have been used.

"It also happened at a time when there were a number of children playing in the park, who would no doubt have felt extremely frightened.

“We have been conducting extensive enquiries following the initial report, and as part of these, we’ve obtained some CCTV images.

"Although we fully appreciate these images are not very clear, we hope that somebody may recognise some of the clothing worn.

“We would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”

Anybody who feels they can help is asked to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54200068554.

Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
