A woman has been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control following separate dog attacks in Swindon.

The incidents relate to attacks in the Moredon area of Swindon on a person and two other dogs on April 11 and 26, causing injury, plus a fatal attack on a cat on May 3.

A 33-year-old woman was yesterday (08/05) arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control under section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act. She is currently in custody for questioning.

The dog has also been seized.

PC Sam Young of the Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team said: “We appreciate the significant amount of public concern around this dog following multiple incidents, and I can confirm it has been seized.

“I’d also like to thank all the people who called in to identify the suspect following a public appeal on our social media, which has today led to the suspect being arrested.

“She will now be questioned in connection with the incidents.”
