Wroughton will go quackers this May for its annual duck race

Planning has started for the Wroughton 2025 Duck Race.

This year the duck race takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 5 May in WIllow-Brook Gardens.
Businesses are invited to sponsor a duck for £25 and ducks for the yellow duck races will be on sale from Wroughton pubs, Coventry Farm Stores and the library from 7 April.

Races start from 12.30pm onwards

Abigail Taylor-Silk Race - Children's race £1 per duck. Prize for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & last.

Business Challenge Shield - Local businesses can enter the best dressed duck competition and then race them. £25.00 entry

Mike Smith Memorial Race - Adults’ race £1 per duck. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & last.

Mike Hinder Memorial Cup - ‘Anything that floats’ - Heats, followed by Grand Final depending on number of entries.  Design and build something that will float. Individuals, families, groups welcome to enter. Any materials but no electrics. Dimensions 12 x 6 x 6 inches (300 X 150 X 150mm). Enter free by14.00 on the day. Get creating!

Brian Tildesley Memorial Race – Anyone can buy a small duck in advance (contact Bev, details below) for £2 to decorate, race and keep. Enter by 14.00 on the day. This was a new race last year, which was successful.
