First City nursing support worker, Phil Davies, has been won the extra mile award for June. Phil was nominated for the award by Antonia Sines, Deputy Manager of First City in Chippenham.

In her nomination she said: “Phil always goes above and beyond to assist his clients to live stimulated and fulfilled lives. In his own time he has found a secure fishing ground and he plans events and holidays for his clients who otherwise would not have benefitted from these activities. He recently started working with a new client. They found common ground around a specific musician. Phil managed to find a CD and now they both enjoy this music together.”

Wiltshire Care Partnership, which represents and supports nursing providers, agreed to the award, saying: “We loved how Phil makes his job enjoyable and meaningful in his own life, while giving care and support to his clients, allowing them to share experiences and make connections beyond client and support worker, a great example.”
