Swindon’s eagerly anticipated craft beer bar, The Tuppenny, has been forced to delay its opening – originally earmarked for today.

In a message to followers of its Facebook page, owners Linda Gulliford and Jamie Stapleton, explained that the opening had been delayed by a combination of factors, citing a power cut, gas leak and delays in fitting the interior.

“We are massively disappointed, but we want to make sure we kick off on the right foot and give you the bar you deserve and to open before it is finished properly, how we want it, just feels wrong. But don't fret, it will soon be next week, and we can get all excited again!”

The Tuppenny, being set up in the building formerly occupied by hair salon Talk of the Town, will stock a wide range of craft beer and will also serve tea, coffee and cakes during the daytime.
