Stars of this year’s Sleeping Beauty pantomime at the Wyvern Theatre have lent their support to Swindon Borough Council’s campaign to find more foster carers.

Michelle Collins, who stars as Carabosse, and Chris Jarvis, who plays Happy Harry, have both produced videos encouraging residents to consider fostering with the Council.

The Council needs more foster carers to look after children and young people in the town who can no longer stay with their families. There are many different types of fostering placements, ranging from respite to long-term foster care for children of all ages.

Well-known actress Michelle said: “The difference which foster carers make is huge and so important. I am proud to be supporting this campaign and hope it will help raise awareness of the importance of finding foster carers to help support children in the town.”

The Wyvern Theatre has been a great support to the Council’s fostering campaign for several years.

Councillor Mary Martin, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, said: “We are thrilled and extremely grateful to have the support of Michelle Collins, Chris Jarvis and the Wyvern Theatre as part of our current fostering campaign.

“Our foster carers do a wonderful job in supporting children and young people in the town, and we simply need more people to help do this. If you think you could make a difference to a child’s life, please do get in touch with the team who will help to guide you through the process.”
