Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances which led to a man becoming trapped beneath a car at a Swindon garage.
Police were called around 8.45am this morning by a member of staff from JB Autos, Stratton Road, Swindon - who discovered the person on their arrival at work.
Sadly, the man, from the Swindon area, was confirmed to have died at the scene. Formal identification has yet to take place but the man's next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
We do not believe this to be a suspicious incident nor do we believe it to be an industrial accident. The Heath and Safety Executive has not been informed as the man was not an employee of JB Autos.
Anyone in the area overnight or earlier this morning who may have seen anything suspicious - or who may have dash cam footage that could help our enquiry - is asked to call 101 and quote reference 54190113517.
