A Skate Jam on Saturday 23 July at Rivermead Drive, Westlea will offer competitions and demonstrations by professional extreme sports athletes from 12noon to 3pm.
The event is being organised by skate park designers Wheelscape who won the bid from Swindon Council to build the £65,000 facility opposite the Spectrum building. It was supposed to take place when the skate park opened a year ago but was cancelled due to torrential rain.
The relatively small skate park has become a huge hit with skate, BMX riders, rollerbladers and scooter beginners and youngsters improving their techniques, often with parents watching on as they have fun.
Get your skills tuned up for competitions for all ages and skill levels on 23 July when prizes will be awarded for notable achievements during a run.
