Searching for a Santa for Swindon and Cricklade Railway

Swindon and Cricklade Railway is desperately searching for a Santa for their eight and a half days of Santa Specials.

Their regular Santa, unfortunately, had to retire from the role for health reasons.

Many people think that there are plenty of men at the railway, and that one of those could do it, but nothing could be further from the truth. Few, if any, are capable of doing it.

If only it was as simple as one of them donning the suit and beard, and away they go...

Ideally, someone with experience would be very good. Or it might suit someone of an amateur dramatic persuasion?

The only attributes are: A liking of children, and interacting with people in general.

Ideally the applicant would be CRB checked, though, that could be done.

Adrian Brodie, Publicity Officer, said, “As is the case for most heritage railways, the Santa Specials are the biggest and most important event of the year. They are very significant for the income they bring in.”

Most workers at the railway are volunteers, however the Railway is prepared to pay for the right Santa.
