Students who are interested in a career in engineering, technology and aviation can take advantage of free lectures at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham.

The Defence Academy and Swindon Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society have delivered high quality lecture programmes featuring aeronautical, science and engineering related topics for over sixty years and are keen to offer young people the opportunity to attend lectures for free as the 2017/2018 programme gets underway.

Lectures are set at the same complexity as the BBC Horizon programmes and provide a unique viewpoint of aviation-related operational, engineering and developmental issues.

The 2017/18 programme offers a diverse range of subjects, including an examination of The Rosetta Mission - Landing on a Comet; aircraft crash investigations; a look at unmanned aviation support as well as a base visit to RAF Brize Norton.

Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (also free entrance).  For further details, please contact the Defence Academy and Swindon Royal Aeronautical Society by email [email protected]  or Phone: 07740 136609.
