Golf enthusiasts are being invited to find out what Swindon's Broome Manor Golf Club has to offer.

When it opened in May of 1976, Broome Manor Golf Course was hailed as one of the best 'pay and play' courses in the region.

Players say the layout is both challenging and fair and is a course that has matured. It has also given a number of talented golfers the opportunity to hone their skills, including David Howell, Gary Harris and Miles Mackman.

In January of 1977 Broome Manor Golf Club was formed and welcomed into the Wiltshire County Golf Union. At that time it was one of only 11 Clubs affiliated to WCGU.

A club spokesperson said: "There are now 24 clubs affiliated, so golf has certainly grown in the county and produced some great amateur and professional golfers.

"Broome Manor Golf Club is an Artisans Club operating as a Members Club that provides social and competitive golf for all ages and levels of play.

"The 27 holes of golf are set in a beautiful tree-lined parkland course in the heart of Swindon. Golf is one of those sports that can be played for a lifetime and which requires both physical and mental skills that help keep the body fit and healthy.

"So Broome Manor offers a safe and friendly environment for young golfers as well as opportunities to encourage people who want to 'get into golf' and then join our club."

Several qualified PGA Professionals are on hand to help members and those keen to improve their game as well as a growing SPGA Academy, which has attracted many young golfers to develop their skills.

The spokesperson added: "With a vibrant Men’s, Ladies, Senior and Junior section within the club, Broome Manor boasts a plethora of regular competitions.  These take place both on weekdays and at weekends for all levels of player, as well as friendly matches organised against other clubs."

Joining Broome Manor Golf Club gives the member a County Card which enables them to play other clubs in Wiltshire at reduced green fees.

New developments are planned at the Broome Manor Complex which will include a new up-to-date driving range that will provide state of the art performance information to help golfers improve their game.

A comfortable seating area behind each driving bay will allow friends and family to enjoy a bit of banter together with some competitive golf hitting onto the targets.

Broome Manor Golf Club is keen to welcome new members and offers brilliant discounts and packages for every golfer.

All those interested are invited to contact reception on 01793 532403 for more information.
