The match, consisting of 20 games, never looked in doubt as the home team raced to an 8-2 lead in the early rounds of doubles and singles.

The remaining six singles games saw Swindon cruise to a further 5-1 victory.

Captain Clive Smith praised the whole team’s efforts as every player contributed to this convincing first win.

The team travel to near neighbours Kington Langley for their next game on the 3 June.

Potential players are always welcome at the Moredon ground, where they can discover why croquet is a growing sport enjoyed worldwide, and how it can bring fun, fitness and friendship.
