Swindon St George Rugby League FC has reported a big surge of interest in the town for the club’s Wheelchair RL section.
The news has delighted the dedicated long-time head of the project at New College, Tony Ellis.
"It shows that this version of League is so attractive and so accessible to so many people.
"The interest has seen around a 100 percent growth in participation numbers in recent weeks. This has meant that we must now move forward to match that growth by augmenting our already comprehensive coaching system.
"We are therefore staging an official RFL Level 2 course at the college’s Queens Drive campus, taking place on Saturday 17 August between 8.30am and 5pm." Full details and application form can be found here, although people are asked to be aware that the entry deadline is Monday 6 August and places are filling rapidly.
