Swindon St George Rugby League FC Chairman Warren Huggins has promised: "They will come to feel and fear the breath of the Dragons!"

His warning to opponents came on the eve of his club's venture into the 2025 season.

A club spokesperson said: "The reasons for such optimism are quite clear. With a highly valued set of sponsors retained, led by main backers Powerwash Contractors Ltd and an excellent relationship with their hosts at Swindon Rugby (Union) club, the basics are there for them to build on for a successful season.

"A recruitment campaign is currently underway and anyone wishing to get involved in this dynamic, all action game, whether as a player in Open-age League, Masters RL, Wheelchair RL, or in St George’s Junior section, as a spectator, or maybe as a volunteer, is more than welcome to visit the brand-new website at www.swindonstgeorge.com for further information.

"Of special note to all under 12s and 13s is the fact that the club will be staging a Rugby League taster session on Saturday 26 April between 11.30 and 13.30.

"Fully trained coaching staff will be on hand to ensure that a safe and fun day will be enjoyed by everyone. All are welcome, including, of course, the parents.

"Finally, SSG are pleased to announce that once again they will have on hand the superb skills of John Gallagher Photography and are delighted to welcome back the ever popular ‘Johnny Snaps’!"
