Sam Ellis from Wroughton is feeling on top of the world right now, and so he should be.

The 15-year-old has just received news of his selection for the Great Britain squad at next year’s Youth Winter Olympic Games.

The Ridgeway School pupil is making quite a name for himself in the world of Ice Hockey and his net minding exploits have clearly not gone unnoticed by the GB selectors.

He now knows that he’ll be flying over to South Korea in January to take part in a brand-new version of the game, 3 v 3, the format making its Olympic debut at these games.

He said: "I am so excited to be picked to play for Great Britain and become an Olympian and I am hoping to bring home gold.

"There is no point in settling for second best!"
