The next Slinn Allstars Running Club beginners' course starts on Tuesday 14 January at 6.45pm.
The club is for all, and is philosophy is one of fun, friendship and fitness.
A spokesperson said: "We run two beginners courses each year, the hardest part of starting the New Year taking up a new sport or getting involved with any physical activity is getting started.
"By the end of the 10-week course most people are able to run for 5K, approx. 3 miles nonstop.
"The sense of achievement and the support that the other members offer you really makes you feel part of the group.
"Once you have successfully completed the course you are encouraged to join the Slinn Allstars running club, where you will be able to participate in a variety of running events and get the opportunity to be part of the biggest running club in Swindon.
"Running is a popular form of exercise for a reason. It doesn’t need much equipment, and you can do it just about anywhere or anytime it is convenient for you.
The location for the start of the next course is St John’s Church Hall, Haydon Wick, Swindon, SN25 1QP - next to Morrisons - although there will be no running on the first occasion.
