The head coach of Swindon St George RLFC says his squad are looking forward to their next fixture.
Following last week’s heavy rout of Devon Sharks, St George will be in an ebullient mood on Saturday, 9 July.
The day will see them visit All Golds in search of further Southern Conference League points to bolster their play-off hopes in the competition’s Western Division.
Head Coach Kirk Collins is aiming for a largely fit and ready squad to take on the short trip over to Bristol.
He said: "The boys are still buzzing from the Sharks game, and we are looking forward with confidence to facing our local rivals in their backyard."
The Swindon club says that, given the proximity of the two sides, the atmosphere of a derby day brings something of an extra competitive edge, and the side that can best keep their heads in the heat of battle may well come out on top.
Mr Collins’ vast coaching knowledge and experience could turn out to be a key factor in keeping his troops grounded and focused on the job in hand.
Whatever the outcome, fans are promised a feast of powerful, pacy and aggressive Rugby League, and any St George followers who fancy popping across to support the team will be made welcome at the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium in Bristol.
