The volunteer-run sports club will be welcoming the local community back to the Swindon cricket grounds now that lockdown restrictions have lifted.

Swindon Cricket Club's fireworks and bonfire event will be held at the cricket club grounds on Friday 5 November.

The gates will open at 5pm and the bonfire will be lit shortly after.

The fireworks display will be held once the bonfire is lit and the cricket club will have a DJ playing music from the pavillion.

A club spokesperson said: "Join us for an evening of family-friendly autumnal celebration!

"Back again after a, you know...hiatus...last year. We are going BIG this year thanks to our main event sponsor All Set Security, a local company who cater for all your alarm, CCTV and access control needs - https://allsetsecurity.co.uk

"We have loved putting on an event specifically tailored to those with children and are looking forward to hosting you again for a fun and spectacular evening. Wrap up warm and enjoy music from the DJ, rides for the kids and a roaring bonfire followed by our family-friendly fireworks display. The oohs and aahs shall be delivered by the professional display company Distant Thunder."

Swindon Cricket Club will have a bar selling both alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. The clubs partners, Power Lounge, will provide hot food including burgers, hot dogs, chips and Nepalese cuisine.

Event organisers say that disabled parking will only be made available on the night and members of the public will not be able to access the site via their vehicles without a blue badge.

Swindon Cricket Club are also reminding people that the event is taking card/contactless payments only.

Tickets are £6 for adults (14 & over) and £2 children (under 14) and can be purchased at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/scc-events-2021/swindon-cricket-club-family-fireworks

The Swindon Cricket Club are encouraging members of the public to book in advance as the event has a tendency to sell out quickly.

Funds raised on the night will be used to help grow Swindon Cricket Club.

People can email their enquiries about tickets, accessibility or anything else to [email protected]. The club say there may be a 48 hour wait for an email response.
