Swindon's only rugby league club will make their Midlands Premiere League debut at Oxford tomorrow - Saturday 11 May.
Swindon St George's open age side will play their first match as part of the Midlands Premiere League at Oxford RFC after switching from the Southern Premiere League.
The switch has been seen as a bold move, but according to club chairman Warren Huggins, it is a positive one.
"We are obviosuly starting with our closest neighbour which we wouldn't have been able to do last year," he said.
He added that the club saw the switch as a step up in quality and a fresh challenge.
The match kicks off at 2:30pm with free admission for all spectators.
Meanwhile, the club's over-35s team will be representing Swindon St George's at The South Festival of Masters Rugby League taking place in London, also tomorrow.
The festival is hosted by Brixton Bulls RLFC and will feature sides from across the region, highlighting a version of the sport that is played extremely competitively but with respect to each player's age and condition.
