Kingsdown Lions Football Club is celebrating after its under 14s Tigers team won the League 4 title in the North Wilts Youth Football League.

Based at Kingsdown School and sponsored by Swindon’s Bus Company, the victorious team has been kitted out in a strip bearing its name.

To celebrate this latest success, bus operator general manager Andrew Sherrington made a special presentation to the club.

He said: “We’ve seen some fantastic football with the Tigers this season - and they deserve every bit of this success.

“As an established part of the local community, Swindon’s Bus Company is committed to supporting local clubs and organisations, and I’m pleased we have been able to assist the team with their new strip.

"We’re very proud that they have been playing with our name emblazoned on their kit this season, and now as league champions.

“I wish all the players huge success for next season.”

U14s Tigers team manager Dave Hall said: “When we took over the team, there were hardly any players left - so we have had to rebuild from scratch. All of the players have worked really hard this season, and we’re all immensely proud."

Fellow team manager Paul Robinson added: "The team has really put in the effort to make it to training and all the players have given their all in every match they play. But the funds we have received from Swindon’s Bus Company to pay for a new kit has made a huge difference to morale.

“Partners like Swindon’s Bus Company contribute hugely to that. On behalf of everyone at Kingsdown Lions Football Club, I’d like to thank them for everything they have done. It’s been great celebrating our success with them.”
