Good turnout at Swindon croquet tournament

Swindon Croquet Club members turned out in force for a golf croquet tournament.

In golf croquet, each hoop is won by the first ball to pass through each.

Players at the tournament were split into two teams Players were split into 2 teams, with higher handicap players competing against those with lower ones over two rounds of singles matches and a round of doubles.  

A spokesperson said: "Following some fiercely contested matches, the higher handicap players came out narrowly on top by utilising their ‘free’ shots effectively, winning overall by 13 matches to 12.  

"After a very enjoyable day of excellent croquet match play, Chairman Clive Smith presented the trophy to Tony Tomlin, captain of the victorious team."
