The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats have confirmed the plans for their annual charity Teddy Bear Toss game.
The 2024 Teddy Bear Toss will be held on Saturday 7 December when the Wildcats host the Solway Sharks.
Each year fans source hundreds of bears and see them fly onto the ice for amazing causes.
A spokesperson for the event said: “As always our rules are that we ask the bears to be bagged to protect them from the ice and they must have a CE label to meet with regulations. When the Wildcats score their first goal of the game, take aim, and launch the bears onto the ice!
“This year we’ll be donating the bears to Barnardos. Barnardos are a children’s charity who help change lives of young people living in poverty. They have been working for over 150 years for children and young people. They bring love, care and hope into their lives and giving them a place where they feel they belong.”
Prospect Hospice will be selling teddies at The Link Centre before the game.
Last time The Wildcats played Solway at home it was 6-2 to the Wildcats - so the team are looking forward to another exciting goal-fest at The Link.
Doors open at 5.45pm and the Face Off is at 6.30pm.
