The Bespoke Guardians Swindon Wildcats have announced that this year they will be having special Pride Jerseys to celebrate the EIHA Pride Event at the end of January.

The EIHA Pride Week will be held between the 20-29 January and the entire association will demonstrate that it is time to shine a light on diversity and inclusion.

A spokesperson said: “We will be hosting our Pride Night on 25th January against the Hull Seahawks. The exclusive jerseys will also be worn against Leeds Knights on Saturday 18 January.

“We expect these jerseys to be very popular and therefore will be splitting how you can get your hands on one.

“Around half of them will be up for grabs in a jersey auction on the Wildcats website, with the opening bids set at £75, whilst the remainder will be available in an extended Shirt Off His Back competition. Keep your eyes peeled on our announcement when the Auction goes Live!

“We’ve fallen in love with these jerseys and really hope the fans think the same. Hockey is for everyone, and the Wildcats are proud to be working with Swindon & Wiltshire Pride for the EIHA Pride Week.”

All the profits from the jerseys will be going to Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, who will also be joining the Wildcats on the 25 January to raise money as the in-house charity for the evening.

Last weekend saw another big 4-3 home win on Saturday (11 January) night against the Sheffield Steeldogs, but on Sunday (12 January) the Swindon Wildcats fell to a last minute 4-3 loss to the Hull Seahawks.

It was debut delight for new signing Vanya Antonov who scored a brilliant goal on Saturday night to get his first as a Wildcat.

Jake Bricknell also carried on his great goalscoring form as he got a hat-trick on Saturday night and added another two goals on the Sunday bringing his tally to 33 on the season.

It’s a huge game next Saturday as the Wildcats face the Leeds Knights who are one place above them in the table.
