The editor of the Swindon Advertiser, Gary Lawrence, has left after six years at the helm.
Gary, who has worked for the Newsquest group for 28 years, was also responsible for the Adver's sister title, the Oxford Mail.
Staff were told the news on Tuesday in an internal memo from Newsquest's regional managing director Chris Moore.
It is thought that Deputy Editor Michelle Tomkins will take over as managing editor until a new editor is appointed.
Newsquest declined to comment on Gary’s departure.
