Golfers put their skills to the test when Swindon-based MAN Truck & Bus UK staged a successful regional dealer competition.
More than 500 customers took part in the nationwide golf days, which culminated in a final held on the championship Duke’s Course at Woburn Golf Club.
Robbie Davies, from Wrexham’s 2Agriculture, a customer of Llangollen-based AN Richards, was named the overall winner after a hard-fought tournament. He was presented with a golf bag and cap.
Second place went to Harwoods Truck Centre customer Richard Hayward, from TS Tyre Repairs, with James Munson, from Munson Transport, an R & A Scott Auto Services customer, taking third place, with fourth place going to Paul Barber, from Heat Treatment 2000, a customer of Aquila Truck Centres.
The prize for longest drive went to HRVS customer Jim King, from Cedar & Co, with Aquila customer Kevin Thornhill, from Boss Design, winning nearest to the pin.
The event also included a golf clinic prior to teeing off with ex-PGA player Andrew Murray.
Martin Pickering, MAN Marketing Communications Manager, said: “The weather was excellent on the day. It is a beautiful course and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play on one of the best courses in the country,
“It proved to be a very tight competitive contest and Robbie was a worthy winner on the day. The tournament has been a great success and enabled MAN to engage at a local level with both customers and the dealer network.”
Seventeen regional Dealer Golf Days were held up and down the country in the run-up to the final, as far north as Elgin, in Scotland, to Felixstowe in the south.
