Wiltshire Police have secured a full closure order of a property in Somerville Road, Walcot, following ongoing issues with antisocial behaviour.

The order was granted on Wednesday 3 June by Swindon Magistrates’ Court and means only council employees, their contractors or the emergency services can enter.

Full closure orders are legal mechanisms to completely shut down a property, including for residents or owners.

PC Dave Thompson from Swindon Central South NPT said: “This address and the resident have been the cause of significant antisocial behaviour and nuisance over the recent months therefore I am pleased that the court have a granted a full closure order.

“Since the last order expired, there have been nearly 40 calls relating to the address which shows how much the local residents have had to put up with.

“This order will provide some much-needed respite from the issues that have been caused.

“We have worked extremely closely with Swindon Borough Council to gather the evidence which was put to the court today.”
