Swindon Borough Council have announced that the refurbishment of the raised beds at Blagrove roundabout are now complete.
The newly-refreshed beds are now filled with vibrant, long-lasting plants that support bees, other pollinators and Swindon’s wildlife.
A spokesperson said: “Even the busiest roads can support nature, and that is just what is happening now.
“The results were immediate, as within 10 minutes of finishing the first set of planting, we welcomed our very first visitor, a bumblebee. Shortly after, while planting the second bed, a hummingbird hawk moth arrived and headed straight to the freshly planted salvias.”
Blagrove Roundabout is also currently undergoing resurfacing work to improve the road surface for Swindon motorists.
A spokesperson said: “Despite the hot weather, the team has been continuing the project this week and is currently on track to be completed next week.”
Work continues each week night, between 8pm and 6am, with diversions and lane closures on place where necessary.
