Man charged following serious collision

Wiltshire Police have charged a man following a serious collision near the M4 yesterday afternoon (12/07).

At around 3.35pm Wiltshire Police responded to a collision between a Volvo V40 and Kawasaki motorbike on the Spittleborough Roundabout at junction 16 of the M4.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Volvo, Paul Greenall, 45, of Benjamin Way, Healdsburg, California, has been charged with causing serious injury by careless driving and driving without insurance.

He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (14/07.)

The road was closed to allow for enquiries to take place and has now reopened.
