This Autumn, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon will partner with Brighter Futures to host a Handbag Amnesty.
As part of the new partnership, guests are invited to donate their pre-loved handbags, which will then be resold at a pop-up shop within the centre, with all proceeds going to the Brighter Futures charity, which raises money for Great Western Hospitals.
Guests visiting Swindon Designer Outlet can drop off their handbags, man bags or briefcases to Guest Services from 10am on Friday 21 September until 3pm on Thursday 4 October. The bags will then be given a new lease on life, ready for eager shoppers to bag themselves a treat at the centre’s pop-up shop on the weekend of the 6 and 7 October.
Tina Cumpstey, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon said: “We are thrilled to offer our local community the chance to support Brighter Futures through our Handbag Amnesty at Swindon Designer Outlet. Every donated handbag or purchase at the pop-up shop is sure to make a huge difference to the important work the charity do.”
Every guest making a donation to the Handbag Amnesty will receive a Fashion Passport offering an additional 10% off participating brands. On top of this, the centre will be offering one lucky shopper the chance to win a brand new Mulberry Bayswater handbag worth more than £900. Raffle tickets will be sold for £1 each from the pop-up shop, with all funds raised donated to Brighter Futures.
Brighter Futures is the hospital charity of the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on funding that extra special level of care in order to make a real difference to patients, their families and the staff who treat them, above what the NHS is able to provide. The charity improves the hospital environment, funds ground breaking research, supports the development and training of hospital staff and provides state-of-the-art equipment.
