A mortgage advisor from Swindon recently put her best feet forward for Alzheimer's research.

Mortgage Advice Bureau Swindon's mortgage advisor, Hannah Clegg, put on her running shoes and raised £470 for the Alzheimer's Society after polishing off the Swindon Half Marathon in an impressive two hours and 44 minutes.

The course, which was changed last year, takes in many of the area's landmarks, including the Old Town and the Magic Roundabout, before finishing in Wharf Green.

Hannah joined two thousand runners for the event, all of whom were supported by hundreds of onlookers who cheered as the athletes crossed the finishing line on Commercial Road, lending the occasion a festive atmosphere.

Hannah, an advisor at the Swindon-based Mortgage Advice Bureau, said: "I'm so thrilled to have trained for and taken part in this exciting but challenging race - it was a great day. And, of course, it was an excellent chance to raise some much-needed funds to boost vital Alzheimer's research. It's a cause that's very close to my heart."

Jeremy Morcumb of Mortgage Advice Bureau Swindon added: "We were all really impressed with what Hannah achieved, and were pleased to help with sponsorship. She trained really hard for this half-marathon."

Held on 9 September, the Swindon half marathon started and finished in the town centre, and sponsors include Heart radio. While it's 90% flat, with only one gradual incline near the end, before taking participants downhill to the finish, runners still have to cover a further 13.1 miles.
