A walking group has been making great strides in their continual effort to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Thirteen is unlucky for some, but for the walkers of Wiltshire and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, it signals another year of fundraising from the White Horse Challenge.
Now completed its thirteenth year, joint organisers MHA Monahans, Rygor Commercials and the Rocking Horse Nursery have handed over another £2,056 to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
This money has been raised through the White Horse Challenge, an annual weekend that presents walkers with a challenge of their choice between seven, 27 and 52 miles, and takes in up to seven of the region’s iconic white horses. This year’s challenge saw over 60 intrepid walkers take on the challenge.
MHA Monahans Partner James Gare, who handed over the cheque to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “For the past 13 years, we have jointly organised the White Horse Challenge together with Rygor Commercials and the Rocking Horse Nursery and we have raised over £147,000 in total over this time.
“Each year we continue to be blown away by the effort and dedication that the crew and their supporting team show and the incredible, life-saving stories they tell.
“We have always felt it is vitally important to support our local air ambulance as they receive no government funding, yet many of us know people who would not be here today if it wasn’t for them. We’re proud to support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.”
