Staff at Swindon's four branches of Marks and Spencer are facing a period of uncertainty after the firm announced plans to cut 1,000 jobs nationally. Swindon has branches in the Brunel Shopping Centre, the Orbital Shopping Park and the Swindon Designer Outlet as well as a Simply Food store at the Mannington Retail Park.
Marks and Spencer plans to close 17 more stores as part of the retailer's plans to restructure its business in response to changing consumer habits.
