Inner Flame Prince's Trust team was awarded £2,800, early this year, to run a 12-week personal development course for unemployed young people in Swindon (aged 16 - 24) to help them obtain work and live independently.

Angus Macpherson was joined by Wiltshire's High Sheriff, David Scott, when they visited the Swindon based charity on Friday 6 December 2019.

The grant, which comes from money raised through the Police Property Act (see notes to editors), will enable a further 30 young people to undertake the 12-week course.

During the visit both the High Sheriff & Commissioner joined the participants in an exercise to improve public speaking skills.

Afterwards, Angus said: “Many of these young people will not have completed their formal education for a variety of reasons.
"This course is designed to help them gain confidence they lack because of their diverse needs, the confidence which is needed to even attend an interview.”

More than 22-thousand pounds has been given to eight  local charities through the Police and Crime Commissioner Grants for this year (2019).
