OCTOBER 14th IS THE SUNSH INE DAY WHEN FRESHBROOK'S OWN PUB GOES ON TAP -

                                 THE CORNFLOWER
'The Cornflower' will officially open for trading at 7.00pm on Thursday, October
14th. Months of hard work have seen the pub take shape and the final result is
one which does credit to all who have worked on this £300,000 project.

The interior is warm and friendly and is designed for community spirit. The pub
offers customers the full range of Whitbread products, good food - and a taster is
given overleaf, darts, pool and a skittle alley. There are conveniences specially
             designed for the disabled.

In addition, for those wishing to take the family out, there is a children's room
             with its own access.

We hope you will join us at the opening or call in to see your neighbours Terry
and Jill Stapleton, the licensees, in the coming weeks.
                                                                          Mike Peacock
                                                                    Retail Manager, Whitbread Flowers

                                        YOUR HOSTS
Terry and Jill Stapleton have six years experience in the trade. They were
previously at The Tabard public house in Gloucester, another Whitbread Flowers
property, where they gained a renowned reputation for their hospitality and
             excellence in pub food.

Both Terry and Jill were born and bred in Swindon and the period in Gloucester
was one of their very infrequent journeys out of the Swindon area. Terry is a
plumbing and heating engineer by trade but his adaptability to a friendly
considerate licensee will not go unnoticed to 'The Cornflower' regulars.
